Book: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (A MUST READ! It's the second novel in her "Hunger Games" trilogy)

"We read to know we are not alone."
CS Lewis

The beginning of the school year usually commences somewhat smoothly for me and most likely inspires me to become the ideal student. I would like to say that this continues for the rest of the year, but unfortunately sleep and homework and difficult schoolwork prevent me from being prompt, inspired, and a perfectionist. (Particularly this is noticed in the quality of my handwriting...) Anyway, I am inspired by my English class. I have AP Lit sixth period with some of the smartest (and coolest!) kids I've ever met (as well as possibly one of my favorite teachers to date!), and that means that the discussions will be thought-provoking and memorable. Today we discussed different pieces of literature including our summer reading (All the King's Men Robert Penn Warren) and I came home inspired to read more...

And this translates into fashion how? Before we get off on the wrong foot, the "sexy librarian" look is overdone and overrated. Congratulations for simultaneously [pretending to have] a brain and looking like a sex kitten. That must have taken effort. Anywhoo, I much prefer the British school-girl look translated in She & Him's "In the Sun" or Taylor Swift's "The Story of Us" music videos (did I mention my Microbiology teacher looks like Zooey Deschanel?? This makes me extremely happy.) Today I combined chic with colorful and comfort with whimsy. And my ultimate accessory for the day? A book to be read in between class changes and locker breaks and homeroom and lunch.
