1. A Silly American in Paris. (But of course.)
2. The Shuffle.
The two videos above illustrate my nostalgic daydreams of the week. First, created by the lovely blogger Haleigh of Making Magique: A Silly American in Paris, (her blog is an inspiration.) a nostalgic look at a beautiful city, and second, from my new favorite movie, (Midnight in Paris, of course!) the Charleston scene. (Did you spot the cameo made by Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald?!) It's funny how little things like movies and viral YouTube videos can decide certain things for you. This week I decided that I will live in Paris at some point in my life. I believe the city holds some kind of secret for me.
I like to play this game I made up called "The Shuffle." Basically I set my iPod on shuffle when I'm in the car and listen to a bunch of songs. One wins The Shuffle when one discovers a song hidden in the depths of her library that she's never listened to or rediscovers and really catches on! This week I've won double jeopardy and come across two songs that I've fallen in love with! (Thank you free Starbucks samples/random CD's given to me by friends/my Dad's super-random-really-scary playlist!) Below are the reasons why I caught on:
i remember the stupid things, the mood rings / the bracelets and the beads / nickles and dimes, yours and mine / did you cash in all your dreams?
"Never Let You Go" Third Eye Blind
you're the storm / let it rain / you've got eyes like a hurricane
"What You Do To Me" We The Kings
